Easter.
You know, some years you just kind of feel numb to it all, like it just doesn't sink in -but of course you don't let on to anyone about this unconsious apathy- while everybody else really falls at the cross around you. Maybe you don't get that. Those type of Easters is when you have to remind yourself that faith is so much more than just how you feel. It's a life choice and fact. Kind of like those odd days you don't feel the love for your special someone. Despite the no-warm-fuzzies syndrome, you still *know* you love the guy and choose to.
All that aside, THIS year was amazing. Granted, I was in Preschool and Grade School for three of the four services, but I thank God that Carter was able to go to the last service with me. Just being able to sit in church with him is such a blessing (as he usually is required to be in DiscoveryLand as his job title entails).
It was a great service and the sanctuary was full house. -No joke- and for those of you who have been to First Alliance, you know that the mere sight of that many people in one place praising God can bring you to your knees. The sermon was great too. It was so good to see Carter get spiritually filled as well. Sometimes it's hard when you work at church to come back to the place of a sheep when you're expected to be the shepherd all the time.
I hope you all had as great as Easter as I did. I hope when you spent time with your friends and family, and pigged out on a great spread of food together, that you realize that that very community which you love is possible because of an empty tomb!
